It's very interesting. As I read these posts, I noticed that many of my favorite herbs fit perfectly with my chart. I didn't pick them knowing that; I gravitated to them because they suit me. I wonder how many other readers are discovering the same thing.
I downloaded the Skyview Lite app (free) a couple days ago and have been stepping out onto my deck when I let the dog out in the morning to look at the stars. This morning I found Aquarius above my house and a little southeast using the app. It's so interesting seeing the zodiac star formations and other stars and planets. I thought I'd mention this in case anyone else wants to go out and look at the stars and is curious as to what they are looking at. We have had about 6 days of clear sky after a couple months of clouds. Spring is coming!
I've never tried that app, Karen--I'll have to do that. Thank you for this reminder that the symbolic meaning we take from the zodiac is anchored to the real-world universe. That sky up there is the very same sky that the earliest humans looked into when they tried to make sense of their own place in the cosmos. Well, plus or minus a few million pieces of space junk. 😄
I always look forward to a little Aquarius in my life, Pluto and all. :-) Whether Aquarius comes as someone I meet, the time of year, or a historical reference I like to sing it's tunes. Being a child of our most recent splash of the Age of Aquarius, as we of a certain age are, and yet all the while a Capricorn with my view from 20..000 ft. tendencies, I do remember how quickly that era bloomed in the 1960's. True, it was following a period of rapid growth in the good ole USA with Ike lending weight to build our cross country highways and GI's coming home to people who welcomed them without question. (See the USA in your Chevrolet, America is asking you to call!) So perhaps we were ripe to ignore the embittered acts of those bent on keeping their version of America and not quite so ready to share it with everyone. But, with that ripeness and readiness to bloom forth! .. we jumped in with both feet and grew our hair and threw off our clothes and sang and danced to new music across the country! Even at the Whitehouse one saw men with long sideburns and hair below the collar and sometimes dressed in jeans, the quintessential American garment of that time period for man, or woman. It was such an exuberant time! Interestingly, it also was enlivened by new forms of birth control allowing women to have more freedom in their sexual lives for the first time in history. As one can imagine men were of 2 minds about this happening! lol
Getting back to your wonderful jam packed post this morning Susan, Thanks for all of the astrological details of what the planets can tell us about our coming time. And for ALL of the herbal and gardening references and links! Lots of goodies there, too!!!! Lovely way to start the week and prepare to transition into Aquarius!
Glad you brought up that hallucinatory era, Sandy. 😍 That phrase really caught on. It seemed to capture so much. But the boundaries of these massive change periods (as in earlier Pluto transits of Aquarius) are always permeable and movable--Saturn (Uranus' co-ruler) always has something to say. Which is good. Keeps us from leaping into extremes. But it's not very neat, is it? And we've got a couple of decades-plus to go.
Not too long ago 'we' were talking about the realization that while nature sorts herself out in ways that we regard as messy, they may in fact be remarkably usefulness and even beautifully impressive in what they produce. Perhaps we humans need our messy moments, too. Admittedly, they can be more than messy. It is hard to be caught in this on going train wreck, not knowing what is still waiting for us around the curve. Damn that ole Pluto, anyway! None -the-less I have this feeling of the start of rejuvenation. Which if I read what you have said in your post today correctly, could in fact, be a part of what is in our future..... messy as this lead-in commotion may be. No idea what or who will actually prevail. But I am pretty clear, they are out-of-control and they have yet to realize it. Remarkable time, that so much is being done right out-loud and before our eyes. I see a crash and burn of this group of hooligans and then, who know what? It will be 'different' is about all one can predict. I do appreciate how you have done your best to provide access to good sources of information.
Susan, I always enjoy reading about the signs, and Aquarius sounds so settled and positive. Good juju for difficult times. Most especially, I like to hear about the herbs that coincide with the sign. I am a long-time friend of both Valerian and Skullcap. Because my husband practiced acupuncture, back in the day, we had an herbal pharmacy in our office. During a stressful period of time in my younger life, I took the combo of Valerian and Skullcap for sleep. It did the trick. I enjoyed finding out that those herbs are associated with Aquarius.
I hope I didn't paint this Aquarius as TOO peaceful! I'm afraid we have plenty of rough stuff ahead, not just in this Sun sign but in months/years to come. You might take another look at this, in the post under the subhead Aquarius Season 2025. And you might also want to stock up on valerian and skullcap. Pluto isn't going to let us off easy. You'll likely need it. ❤❤
"Adding complexity to this 2025 Aquarius season is the dwarf planet Pluto. Not only will the Sun spend the upcoming month in Aquarius, but Pluto—symbolic of beginnings and endings, of deep transformation, rebirth, and the unending cycle of destruction and renewal—will be there too. A slow-moving planet, Pluto won’t exit Aquarius until 2044, so whatever begins now will play itself out across the next two decades. Notable upheavals that have occurred during Pluto transits of Aquarius: the American, French, Haitian Revolutions and the beginning of the Industrial Revolution. Buckle up: we’re in for significant changes—ecological, economic, political, social—that will affect our lives for a very long time."

I hear that quite often from others, Penny--and it certainly is true for me.

Definitely a transformative time! Exciting changes, uncomfortable transit for positive resolution in the long run. (I should live that long.)
