As I get older and am less compelled by the family and professional urgencies that once pulled me forward, I think a lot about the projects that keep me engaged, productive, and balanced in a world that seems increasingly . . . well, unbalanced. These are ongoing works-in-progress (WIPs) that I enjoy and look forward to, where I can see a difference (even if it’s a very small one) when I return to it.
Like this cross-stitch WIP that I pick up for two or three hours most evenings after supper is over and the kitchen is put to bed for the night.
